Thomas Tyler Clark
👋 Welcome
Hello, I’m Thomas Tyler Clark, Ed.D., the Assistant Director of Operations at The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU. I specialize in gifted education policy, program development, and research design, with a focus on using data science and AI to advance equity and identification in K-12 talent development.
Currently, I serve as:
- Assistant Director, The Center for Gifted Studies
- Co-Director, Talent Identification Program of Kentucky (TIP-KY)
- Executive Administrator, World Council for Gifted and Talented Children
I hold a Doctor of Education in Postsecondary Leadership and a Certificate in Data Analytics from Western Kentucky University, with earlier graduate degrees in mathematics.
🔬 Current Projects
- AI in Gifted Education – Exploring how large language models can support curriculum differentiation and Bloom’s-aligned question generation.
- TIP-KY Expansion – Leading statewide efforts to improve early identification of high-potential youth using above-level assessments.
- NAEP Data Explorer – Public dashboards built in R to make national performance data on high-achieving students more accessible. See NAEP Project
